SNOWY PLAINS WIND FARM

Snowy Plains Wind Farm received Development Consent from the Snowy River Shire Council on 15 November 2005. EPURON hopes to begin construction of the wind farm before the end of 2008. It will be EPURON's first wind farm project.

The Snowy Plains Wind Farm would contribute to the generation of renewable energy in NSW. It would help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing our reliance on coal fired power stations and help fix the shortfall in power generation in the State.

In an average year it could supply clean, renewable electricity for up to 10,000 average NSW homes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in NSW by up to 80,783 tonnes per annum.

On 22 January 2008, Epuron announced the sale of the Snowy Plains project, and two other projects, to Origin Energy. Read the announcement >>here.
