SOLAR ENERGY: OUR REFERENCES
Since 1998 EPURON has implemented photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of more than 118 MWp, which include both rooftop and free field systems. The roof system on the storage and production halls of the tyre manufacturer, Michelin, was the biggest of its kind in 2004 (9 MWp), as was the free field system in Hemau, southern Germany, which was implemented in 2002 (4 MWp). Our first system with thin film modules went into operation in summer 2006 in Mering, Bavaria, and it also ranks among the biggest projects of its kind in the world.
As part of our company's internationalisation process, EPURON will reinforce its overseas project business in the future. We will concentrate here on markets with optimum economic, legal and climatic conditions. The first projects are already being implemented in Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea and the USA.
In the Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) sector, EPURON developed a 50-MW ready-to-build project in 2009 and sold it to a Spanish energy provider. Further projects are in various stages of development.
